Prints, packaging, and the final copy of the book have arrived!
Bookmarks and stickers are on the way, as are cartons upon cartons of books. That pesky spine and I fought hard, but it’s certainly behaving now.
Only 35 more days until release !

Thank you to everyone who has backed the Kickstarter, it is now fully funded !
Not only that, but we have hit our first stretch goal, a short story that takes place after The Voice of Wild Places, and there is a chance we may reach the second one, a special edition hardback!
Despite my Big Feelings about all this love for the Kickstarter, I have already set to work on the short story, it feels so good to be with these characters again. Yes, I know we haven’t been separated for that long, but it still feels like coming home.
Speaking of coming home, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the Adventures in Levena books, which some people added to your pledge. It is cozy season after all, which is what these books feel like. There is some angst as characters heal and face the past, but they are overwhelming wholesome and romantic.

There are currently two novels and two novellas out, each book follows a different couple. The first novella has multiple perspectives, and an interesting first half that technically takes place after all the books. It’s an immortal thing, you know?
The third book, Mochizuki and Xlato, comes out in October of next year. Illustrated by Crossroad Art, the same artist who we hopefully will have for the special hardback of The Voice of Wild Places!

You can find out more about the series here.
I can’t wait to order prints, bookmarks, stickers, and wield my new highlighter and pens to go full historical nerd mode for annotating time. Not to mention signing and/or painting the books themselves.

To celebrate The Voice of Wild Places going to ARC readers soon, I’ve gathered some books that take place largely in the 20s and 30s. There is one that recently came out and I’m so excited that I needed to include it; it takes place in the 1910s.
The Voice of Wild Places is a queer historical fiction set in 1930, following two ex best friends as they search for lost cities, and the legend who disappeared looking for them.

I’m part of a itch.io bundle! Over 40 authors and illustrators have come together to offer their work at a discounted price for the upcoming Trans Rights Readathon.
The bundle is available from March 17th to March 31st, and we’ve smashed through our first three goals!
This is my first time being part of an itch.io, and I’ve only recently started selling my ebooks on there. So far the experience is good, people seem to be loving the indie aspect of it and the ability to tip when making purchases. Purchases that are direct, meaning the files that you pay for are *yours.*
The current goal has been bumped up to $12,000, and right now we’re about to hit 8k. My monthly sales from itch.io are going to Advocates for Trans Equality.
The Trans Rights Readathon is an annual call to action, during which people read trans books and support their trans community in other ways.

Some trans masculine masterpieces! I’ve got a few of these already and am hoping to smash them out soon. What’re you reading for the Trans Rights Readathon?

It’s Women’s History Month, and I’m over here collecting trans femme gems like it’s my job. I have The Dawnhounds, and I’m looking forward to checking out more of these.

The Rebel Foxes is the first book I wrote under my Noah Hawthorne pen name, and this June it will be one year old. It’s full of trans rage, found family, and shapeshifting queers. A blend of genres such as dystopia, dieselpunk, and paranormal romance.
Paige Reisenfeld, who also narrated Children of Iverbourne and Princess of Terra, has brought Rajni and her crew to life. The audiobook is now available on Audible, and I’m so excited to share it with you.
It’s not as popular as the Levena books, but I love it just as dearly. When I wrote it, I was in a period of deep discovery which involved a lot of anger, grief, and sharp hope. If you are struggling with what’s going on today, this will bring you great catharsis.
Also, there’s a fun cameo at the end that connects my Iverbourne and Levena worlds to this one! Because multiverse spanning pen names are for the win.

Welcome to the Dome, a place where flora and fauna are legends brought to life by shifters, a mutant race that the malevolent and overtly wealthy Citadel hunts down endlessly in fear of what they what do if given a foothold in society.
The Rebel Foxes are a powerful gang led by Rajni, a fox shifter hellbent on bringing down the oppressive system impoverishing and endangering humans and shifters alike. They take in those who need shelter, and give away their wealth to the poor.
Her pack is thriving and for the first time in years, they have a counter attack planned for The Hunt, a night of crime sanctioned by the Citadel. A night dedicated to flushing shifters out so anyone can murder them without the worry of standard daily limits and hunting tags.
But, all good things must come to an end, and Rajni’s past catches up with her on the night of the Hunt. The human with amber eyes that once saved her life demands her help.
Or else.

Cornelius Sawyer is a man of many talents, but forgiveness is not one of them.
Watt Johnson is a man of his word, but not once in his life has he spoken up for himself.
Once connected by the bonds of childhood, threads now severed by the demands of life, the pair are brought together for a once in a lifetime opportunity: an all expenses paid expedition to Brazil, searching for a man the world believes to be long dead, Percy Fawcett. And perhaps, even the Lost City that he was looking for.
Under the guise of doing research work for their respective universities, a reluctant Cornelius and an exhilarated Watt accept the offer and delve into the unknown, trusting no one but themselves. Looking at a map, the route and its dangers seem to be known obstacles which can be easily conquered, a fact that Watt leans on heavily.
But Cornelius is intimately aware that the river has teeth, that the land renders a siren song to those who are desperate to become lost in its mountains and basins. To survive the journey they’ll have to face the enemies within, and trust the other to have their best interests in mind.
After all, the Voice of Wild Places is calling, beckoning the adrift homeward.
The Voice of Wild Places releases on May 6th, 2025. You can read early access chapters on my Patreon!

Presenting the next Noah Hawthorne book, The Voice of Wild Places. I’ve commissioned a fantastic cover artist already, Jan Falk of Thistle Arts. Jan has done covers for authors like Sebastian Nothwell and Rita Rubin, along with art for Sarah Wallace’s Dear Bartleby. Based on the cover schedule, release will be in late August or early September.
I am a sucker for historical fiction, especially ones that are queer and with a touch of magic. Taking place in 1930, Watt and Cornelius will be searching for historical figure Percy Fawcett, who disappeared in 1925 while searching for the Lost City of Z with his son Jack Fawcett and Jack’s best friend, Raleigh Rimmel. There are several theories regarding their disappearance, and this will be my take on it.
Are you ready for adventure?
